The 2016 ICFP will feature two options for roundtable discussions during lunch on 26 and 27 January: Topical Roundtables and CEO Roundtables for Emerging Leaders. Hosted by conference partners, roundtables facilitate dialogue and networking among groups of 8 to 10 participants who share common interests related to family planning and the overall conference theme: Global Commitments, Local Actions.

Topical Roundtables will expand the coverage of topics during the conference and serve as opportunities for more intimate conversations about these topics. No sign-up is required to sit at a topical roundtable during the conference; seating will be first-come, first-served. CEO Roundtables for Emerging Leaders provide the opportunity for mid-career professionals and youth to interact with leaders in the field, via discussions centered on a topic of the leader’s choosing. Click here to view the list of participating CEOs and sign up for a seat at a table.

Roundtable on South-to-South Cooperation on Family Planning (SSC4FP) was sponsored by the Gates Institute, UNFPA, and the International Planned Parenthood Federation. There were 27 high-level participants representing 14 countries of the South and 23 representatives from multilateral and bilateral agencies, foundations, and non-governmental organizations in attendance. The purpose of the roundtable was to accelerate commitment for SSC4FP, taking advantage of the presence of active and committed leaders at ICFP and ongoing partnerships; and to formulate an opportunity for a bigger collective footprint in advancing universal access for family planning. The convening was seen as a step toward defining a roadmap for SSC4FP and to entice more activities to emerge over the course of the following year. Click here to view the complete SSC4FP roundtable report.
